Privacy Policy — Soviet Secrets

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Soviet Secrets app (“we”, “the app”) collects and how it is used. By using the app you agree to this policy.

What we collect

• Community content. When you post a comment, rating (like/dislike), favourite, or a photo of a dish, that content is stored in Apple’s CloudKit public database and is visible to other users of the app. Your chosen display name is shown with your comments.
• Identifier. To attribute your posts and let you manage them, we store an identifier associated with your iCloud account (a CloudKit user record ID). We do not collect your email, password, or Apple ID credentials.
• On-device data. Reading progress, bookmarks and favourites are stored locally on your device.
• Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment details.

What we do NOT do

• We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not sell your data.

How information is used

Information is used solely to provide app features: showing the community feed, attributing and moderating content, and keeping your reading state. Community content is public by design.

Moderation and your choices

You can report objectionable comments and block other users from within the app. Reported content may be hidden and reviewed. You may request deletion of your community content by contacting us at the address below.

Data storage

Community data is stored on Apple’s iCloud/CloudKit infrastructure. On-device data stays on your device. We retain community content until you or we remove it.

Children

The app is rated 17+ and is not directed to children. It contains historical recipes that include alcoholic beverages.

Changes

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date will reflect any changes.
